Name the Ale Competition
Skinners have offered to produce a Regatta Ale specifically for the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta and need your help to create both a name for the ale and to assist in the creation of a new character to add to their Cornish Real Ale Folk collection.
Skinner’s are well known for the Skinner’s gang! Each ale, lager and cider is based on a figure in Cornish Folklore, or has been specially produced to celebrate a Cornish event, person, place or organisation.
For the competition, the judges will be looking for an entry that provides a strong relationship with the sea, or tall ships, or the significance of tall ships to Falmouth and their history or even the links between Falmouth and Portugal.
To enter the competition complete the entry form and return it to the West Briton. Applicants need to be over 18 years of age to enter. The deadline for entries is Thursday 4th October 2007.
Entries will be judged by Skinners Brewery, the West Briton and members of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta organising committee in Falmouth.
Four runners up will be announced on Thursday 25th October 2007 and their entries judged by you, the West Briton readers.
The winner will be announced on Thursday 15th November 2007.
The winning name and design will be developed into an illustration for the ale label and the winner will be invited to watch the start of the race on board Mercedes. |
