Thank You Falmouth
I trust you agree with me that the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta in Falmouth was a huge success for the town and the county of Cornwall.
The ships attracted far more people than I anticipated. As Chairman, I was backed and supported by a marvellous Tourism Team at Carrick District Council and the most cooperative support from A&P Falmouth, Port Pendennis Marina, Falmouth Harbour Commissioners, Cornwall Marine Network and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
I wish to express heart felt thanks to the numerous local companies that saw fit to support us in an extremely successful sponsorship campaign, without them, events of this nature just wouldn’t take place.
Events of this scale can only be run with the total commitment from the Police and Emergency Services, the local councils, funders, transport services, entertainment providers, hundreds of volunteers and the generous support of the media; to all those I pay my most sincere tribute. Well done Falmouth!
