On Friday 22nd August Falmouth’s official souvenir programme for the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta was launched. The full colour 46 page programme is packed full of information on the activities, exhibitions and entertainment taking place, along with a full directory of all the Tall Ships visiting the port from 10th-13th September. ‘Manacles’ – Skinner’s Brewing Company’s new ale, specially brewed for the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta, was launched at Expo West on Tuesday. Staff from the brewery celebrated, alongside members of the Regatta organising team for Falmouth, the first pouring of Manacles Ale. The ale will now be available at Skinner’s outlets throughout Cornwall.

Organisers of the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta have confirmed that the event will go ahead as planned even though the marina plans will now be delayed. Whilst this will make accommodating the Tall Ships difficult, A&P and the organisers are working together to develop contingency plans that will support the event. The berthing plans based around using the new marina facilities will revert to use of the existing wharfs of Queens and Duchy, plus additional pontoon berths.
