Tecla

Tecla was built in 1915 in Vlaardingen, near Rotterdam in the Netherlands. She was a herring boat, working the North Sea and Dogger from her home port of Katwijk under her original name 'Graaf van Limburg Stirum'. In 1935 she was sold to Denmark, where she was used as a coastal trader.

In 1980 Tecla returned to the Netherlands, where she was refitted as a charter sailing vessel. From her home port of Enkhuizen she has visited ports in England, Ireland, the Channel Islands and France.

Tecla is one of the most beautiful vessels of her type. She'll join the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta after having taken part in the 2008 Tall Ships Races.
