Pelican
Pelican was originally French built in 1946 to work in the Arctic. Her superb hull was derived from the clippers of the late 19th century with the classic length to width ratio of 5:1, a flared bow, fine entry and run. A long poop has been added, which provides exceptional space and comfort for world wide operation. Pelican's exclusive rig, designed by Philip Goode, is based on the Barbary Coast pirate ships of two centuries earlier. It generates excellent power and yet is handy and easily adapted to extreme conditions.
Pelican is owned and operated by a partnership of individuals whose lives have taught them that experience close to nature, enhanced by the pure exhilaration of a sailing ship, is a huge force for good.
Based in the UK, Pelican is cleared for worldwide operation under the British Flag. Six en suite cabins enable her to convert from training to adventure holidays for families or friends in a matter of hours.
