Discovery Talk - Tall Ships and Tall Stories | NMMC
24 September 2008 6 for 6.30pm
Using an array of stunning images of the Tall Ships, Michael Forwood will outline some of the incredible stories behind these graceful giants.
Having spent years as a Captain for the Sail Training Association he has commanded the terrific Asgard, Lord Nelson and Astrid, some of the finest Class A sailing ships in the world. He was also project Captain for the building of the replica Irish famine ship Jeanie Johnston. The talk will discuss how Sail Training evolved, the building of the first dedicated British ships and give you a final look at the ships which visited the bay this September.
Admission Lecture £7. With two-course buffet £16
