CORMAC pledges support for the Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta
Final arrangements are being put in place for the Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta which takes place from 28 – 31 August this year, with CORMAC being the latest organisation to confirm support for this major event.
Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta requires an extensive Traffic Management Plan, supported by road signage and coning to safely manage the large number of visitors anticipated to attend the event. CORMAC have come on board as an Event Partner, producing and supplying road and directional signage and installing cones to ensure that delay and disruption is minimised to the surrounding highways whilst maintaining public safety. The cones and signage will help to eliminate vehicle access to roads expected to be highly congested with pedestrians to reduce the risk arising from the mix of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Some CORMAC staff will also support the Regatta as volunteer Traffic Marshals at key locations particularly on Race day, when over 100,000 spectators are expected to line the coast from the Roseland to the Helford to watch the impressive parade of sail as the 47 ships make their way to the start line, and onwards to Royal Greenwich.
Arthur Hooper, Managing Director for CORMAC said: “We are delighted to support the Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta, both as an event partner but also our some of our staff will be volunteering at the event providing traffic management, helping people access good viewing spots in the area and contributing to the event running as smoothly as possible.
“The Tall Ships Regatta last came to Falmouth 8 years ago so it will be a great to be part of this community event and fantastic showcase for Cornwall. It is really important to CORMAC to support this great boost for our local economy and we can’t wait to be part of making it a success.”
John Hick, Chairman of the Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta Organising Committee comments: “We are delighted to receive the support of CORMAC and their team for this important and prestigious event. Without us all working together, the delivery of major events such as Tall Ships, would not be possible. Grateful thanks to the company and its work force for their support.”
