?Falmouth Haven adds support to Growing Falmouth Tall Ships Regatta

With 39 vessels now entered for the Falmouth to Royal Greenwich Regatta, the recently launched Falmouth Haven has added its support for the event by confirming berthing facilities for some of the smaller ships taking part in the event.

The strong entry list of vessels means that there will now be three berthing locations in Falmouth. At least ten of the large square rigged Tall Ships and vessels over 40 metres in length will be berthed at County Wharf and Duchy Wharf in the Docks, with access for the public for on board visits, whilst the smaller ships will be berthed at Port Pendennis Marina and Falmouth Haven.

Barry Buist, General Manager, Falmouth Haven, said: “Falmouth Haven has been launched to offer the best of boating in one of the world’s finest natural harbours and we’re really delighted to be able to support one of Falmouth’s biggest maritime events. During the Regatta we’ll be working hard to ensure that both the Tall Ship crews and customers enjoy our facilities and the overall experience of the Tall Ships event.”

Visiting yachts to Falmouth for the Tall Ships Regatta will be able to make the most of the facilities on offer at Falmouth Haven. As one of the south coast’s premier leisure boating facilities, it offers deep water moorings and marina options. Being situated in a spectacular setting in the heart of Falmouth there is easy access to the town’s many restaurants, bars and shopping, and is only moments from world-class sailing waters.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Falmouth Haven on board as an Event Partner. This additional berthing capacity means that we will be able to accommodate the growing number of entries for the Regatta and extend the town’s generous hospitality to more ships. Falmouth Haven has easy access to the town and all the shoreside activities that are planned for residents, visitors and ships crews” confirmed John Hick, Falmouth Chairman of the Regatta. “We now have 39 ships signed up to take part in what will be the largest international sailing event in the south west this year, with further ships anticipated.”
